Data Collection

Grokify does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

The Extension operates entirely within your browser and does not:

• Collect browsing history
• Track your activity
• Store personal information
• Send data to external servers
• Use cookies or tracking technologies
• Share data with third parties

Local Storage

The Extension uses Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.sync) to save a single preference:

• Enabled/Disabled state: Whether you have the extension turned on or off

This preference is stored locally on your device and synced across your Chrome browsers if you're signed into Chrome. This data never leaves Google's infrastructure and is not accessible to us.

Permissions Explanation

The Extension requests the following permissions:

• storage: To save your enabled/disabled preference locally
• activeTab: To reload the current tab when you toggle the extension on or off
• host permissions (https://*/): To scan web pages for Wikipedia links and replace them with Grokipedia links

All processing happens locally in your browser. No data is transmitted to external servers.

Third-Party Services

The Extension does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Changes to Links

The Extension modifies Wikipedia links on web pages to point to Grokipedia.com. This modification happens entirely in your browser and does not involve sending any data to external servers.
